What I'm SIPPY-SIPPING Today

Three and a half out of five STARS.

The cold spell has FINALLY broken here in southern Alberta and I was feeling like having a bit of a fresh and fruity tea. I decided to shop my stash and found a promising contender.

MARACUJA ORANGE is an herbal tea from Tea Desire. As the name would indicate, orange should be the main flavour note, so that would be a win in that column. It looked quite intriguing in its little bag, all full of secret fruit and peels I couldn't really identify, another win. I was off to the races!

As I waited for my tea kettle to boil, I decided I should get out the honey bottle for today. I tend to find that fruity herbal teas can lack in flavour. Alright, now here we go into the tea. My first few sips were of the tea unsweetened - in its unadulterated form. I first noticed a strong fruity flavour, orange peels, lemon, and an unidentifiable jammy note. Of course I, the queen of sweet-tooth kingdom, needed to add some sweetness to balance out the earthiness that I usually identify with herbal teas.

While I somewhat enjoyed the Maracuja Orange herbal tea unsweetened, I was much happier with the flavors after adding a scant teaspoon of honey. I am a simple woman, it doesn't take much to make me happy. Sweetened, I was far more aware of the tea's lovely fruit and jamminess. At room temperature I enjoyed it even more. Next time, we drink her iced!

For your continued information, The Tea Sparrow describes it like this, "An alive taste of exotic passion fruit and tangy orange. Incredible served hot, but unbelievable served cold!"
